Vegan Golden Milk
The best part of waking up is pouring yourself a little cup of sunshine ☕️☀️✨
.
The airs of autumn are emerging now that Labor Day has come and gone and the warmth of summer begins to dim. Nature teaches us that every ending brings new a beginning and with it, you may start to notice a subtle (or not so subtle) shift in your energy 💫
As fall approaches, the elements of space and air are expanding to promote movement, creativity and imagination. As a collective, we may be riding the waves of “back to school” energy as new projects, ideas and possibilities seem to emerge out of thin air. 🌟✨🌟
However, all of this energetic movement can leave us feeling anxious as our tether to the material world seems to grow thinner as we feel our ideas expanding beyond our grasp. By rooting into our rituals, we can harness the momentum Vata is giving us to help us manifest our dreams into a reality ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Time and time again, I have found the key to any challenge can be unlocked with food magic. 🔑👩🏻🍳🔐 To invoke the power of my solar plexus, I sought out warming ingredients such as fresh ginger and turmeric to ignite my internal flame. 🔥🔥🔥 Adding the zest of an orange peel and the comfort of cardamom to a cooling almond milk helps tame the fire within while soothing the body, mind and spirit✨🧘🏻♀️✨
I invite you to take a moment to pause before you try my vegan golden milk. Take three deep breaths before taking your first sip. With each breath, breathe in the magic of the moment you are living, feel the warmth of the body you are embodying and give gratitude for the Earth that provides and supports you. You already have everything you need. 💛💛💛
Vegan Golden Milk Ingredients:
6 cups almond milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
3 inches fresh ginger, grated
2 inches fresh turmeric, grated
10 cardamom pods
3 teaspoons orange peel
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1 lime, juice
Vegan Golden Milk Instructions:
Heat a sauce pot on medium high heat. Add the almond milk and maple syrup to the sauce pot and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Add the grated ginger, turmeric, cardamom pods, orange peel and ground pepper to the sweetened almond milk and bring to a boil. Once the mixture reaches a boil, lower the temperature to a simmer and allow the flavors to combine for at least 15 minutes.
Remove the sauce pot from heat and set aside. Pour the contents through a sieve to remove the grated turmeric, ginger and cardamom pods. Garnish with lime juice. Serve either warm or room temperature.
